About Elevate and Engage: MBE Networking Event

In recent years the State of Maryland has spent over $18.9 billion annually for the procurement of goods and services. However, Black-owned businesses are often underrepresented in final reports on state contracts. The Fall 2023 MBE Events aim to serve as a catalyst to change that paradigm. These events will promote state and municipal contracting opportunities, identify resources for Black-owned businesses, increase state agencies’ awareness of Black-owned businesses, and encourage more Black businesses to get MBE certified as a step toward winning state contracts. It will also link Black businesses to technical and financial resources to support future growth and expansion.
